Carrying Your Own Weight
Some men work hard because they hate asking for favors.
They learned early to handle their own problems.
Pay their own way.
Carry their own weight.
There is strength in that.
A man should be able to stand on his own feet.
He should not expect other people to carry what belongs to him.
But independence can quietly become pride.
A man can become so determined not to need anyone that he refuses help even when help is honest.
He starts treating every offer like a debt.
Every request like weakness.
Every need like failure.
That is not always strength.
Sometimes it is fear wearing work clothes.
Carrying your own weight matters.
So does knowing when another man is simply willing to put a hand on the load.
A strong man should know the difference.
